Introduction
In our ongoing efforts to combat climate change and restore vital ecosystem, the Directorate carried out forest rehabilitation in two key forest this initiative is aimed at revitalizing degraded forest areas, enhancing biodiversity and improving the ecological balance.
By restoring these forest we are not only mitigating the effects of climate change but also ensuring the preservation of natural habitats that are crucial for the survival of countless species. This Rehabilitation underscores the commitment to sustainable environmental management and the protection of our natural resources for future generations.
Economic Benefit
Forest rehabilitation brings significant economic benefits, enhancing ecosystem services such a water regulation, soil fertility and air purification which lead to better agricultural yields and lower water treatment costs. The rehabilitation process creates jobs in tree planting and forest management.
As the forest recover, they act as carbon sinks by capturing carbon and also mitigate climate change by reducing the economic impact of extreme weather and health-related issues.
