In an effort to promote climate resilience and environmental sustainability, the Kisii County Directorate of Climate Change conducted a verification exercise across several milk cooperatives in Kisii County. This initiative is part of a broader push to ensure the smooth operationalization of the cooperatives, particularly in enhancing their daily production processes.
Milk cooperatives in Kisii County play a crucial role in the local economy, but they face significant challenges, including unreliable electricity supply and water shortages, These issues not only increase operational costs but also hinder the cooperatives’ ability to function efficiently and sustainably. Recognizing these obstacles, the Directorate of Climate Change is advocating for sustainable solutions that would benefit both the cooperatives and the environment. Proposed interventions include the installation of solar panels to reduce dependency on the generator and electricity, water tanks for rainwater harvesting, and soak pits to manage wastewater more effectively.
During the verification exercise, several key findings emerged. First, most cooperatives are heavily reliant on diesel generators, which is costly in terms of fuel and vulnerable to electricity grid outages. The installation of solar panels would provide a more stable, cost-effective energy source, enabling cooperatives to reduce electricity expenses while lowering their carbon footprint.
Second, despite the region’s substantial rainfall, many cooperatives lack systems to capture and store rainwater. Installing water tanks would ensure a more reliable water supply, especially during dry periods.
Lastly, wastewater management will be addressed by installing soak pits to properly direct wastewater, preventing contamination. These initiatives, supported by the Directorate of Climate Change in collaboration with KfW, aim to improve the operational efficiency of milk cooperatives while promoting environmental sustainability.

Hi, as a unit you are doing Good work i have a question and its kind off topic, I want to know if
blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I’m starting a blog soon but i have no coding
knowledge so I wanted to get guidance from someone with experience.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! https://lvivforum.pp.ua/
Hi there! Thank you for your kind words and support for our work.
To answer your question, many blogging platforms today have built-in editors that make it easy to create content without needing to know HTML. Platforms like WordPress and Blogger allow you to format text, add images, and create links with simple tools, so they’re very beginner-friendly.
However, if you want more control over your content’s layout and appearance, learning a bit of HTML can be helpful, though it’s not strictly necessary! Since I use HTML myself, I can say that once you get the basics, it becomes a great skill to have. But if you’re just getting started, these built-in tools should cover all your needs.
Best of luck with your new blog!
